I'm gonna blitz up there on the Eldo from Seattle. If no one else is going, I'll prob'ly leave here real early on the 30th of May and burn the 1000 miles to Hyder, AK, in one shot, to be there late in the evening (days are long then). If others want to go, we can leave on the 29th and take it in two days.

Greg, thanks for posting here. I might bump this to the Canada/Alaska Regional section is due time. My calendar is filling quickly, but this is a trip I have longed to due for awhile now. Why not later, say mid-Summer?

It is already there. Has been for a few days, I guess readership down there is a bit slow...

This was originally a road trip for some Anchorage riders, then I remembered Greg and comrades made the trip once so I told him about our plans and he suggested a meet. We chose May 30th because it is the last weekend before road construction starts, which can mean endless miles of mud and deep gravel on our end. There is also more wildlife on the road and less RV's. I would be open to visitors any time. Maybe we could have a Raid North every fourth year like the Olympics. Just not during the World Cup.

All paved now, both the Alcan and Cassiar. Taylor highway to Top of the World still has 30 miles of gravel. Only one more Hyder run done by the Washington and Oregon clubs that I know of . A group of us from Anchorage met a group from Alberta in Hyder a few years back. So it seems every 5 years is the current span.
