Having from just coming off of a 4 1/2 nonstop ride to and the same coming home i thought the v85tt seat was suppose to be good but it sucked! Had a vstrom before this seat but here again the seat sucked and I put a Russel Day Long on it and then I was able to ride 8hrs if needed. Has anyone put a different seat on their v85tt yet? I know its new but someone like me who travels far must have experienced the same thing. Sure would like to open up a discussion on just seats in this forum. Is their even any manufacture who makes seats for that bike and if so....how is it? RDL or Sargent or any others?

GTM is making a seat for the V7. You may want to go to the Store tab and use the contact button to see if they will offer a seat for the V85.

I didn’t find the seat on the V7 very comfortable initially, so I picked up another Guzzi seat off The Internet, and been swapping them back and forth, I think my But has aclimatized to the seat’s... it’s not so bad now ( where is the Happy But icon ?)

I have a V7 III, and found the seat uncomfortable after an hour or two ride. I installed a Gel insert in it at the beginning of this summer and now find 8 hour trips perfectly comfortable. I can ride through 3 full tanks of fuel (900km) with no complaints at all.

I don't know about the v85, but I strongly suspect that many of the V7 seat comfort issues are actually suspension issues in disguise.

There is some truth to that. Even just changing to Conti Road Attack 3 tires has made an appreciable improvement to the ride quality, in regards to the harshness of bumps and jarring to the spine. But the Gel insert allows for all day riding comfort without a sore bottom.

2020 v85tt needs a new seat badly! Looking for a Russel Day Long or possibly a Sargent seat that will fit this bike . After riding for 2 hours in PA , my butt had it . I am 5'10 with a 29" inseam and weigh in at 182lbs. The original just does not cut it. Had a Suzuki 650 vstrom with the same poblem and the 1st thing I did was a Russel Day Long and riding for 8 hours plus was never a problem but I had the seat built low. It was great and now I need something for thid v85tt 2020 bikel. Love the bike, hate the seat. Any one out there has any remedies bside the airhawk, Lets talk and see if anyone got something for sale. Jim vagabondslr42@aol.com

Been contacting Russel Day Long and they say they can build me a great seat from my fiberglass form. Lead time is not till February. So I need to buy a v85tt seat in order to keep riding while it is in California being fitted. Now Sargent is in Jacksonville, Fl in which I am going to in January and will see if I can get it dropped of there in case I do not do RDL. but still need a cheap substitue till its done. Don't quite know which way to go.
