1st day of retirement. Last job 34 years 334 days. On the bright side more opportunities to get out and ride the Eldorado.(when the current restrictions end)
Will miss the colleagues and work mates but as the old saying goes "getting too old for this sh*t" :).
A few leaving gifts :)
Only the plate not the bike

Cheers to that! Hope to see you on the road in Mandello in Sept!

Mandello not looking good at the moment but fingers crossed th EU will get their sh*t together with the vaccination programme and everything goes ahead as planned. Specially as it's our 38th wedding anniversary present to ourselves

From one, Red Eldo owning retired cop, to another, congratulations! I did 25 years in the San Francisco Bay Area and, while I really liked it, retirement is better. Much better in this day and age. Now the goal should be to run through several sets of tires on the Eldo. I will be working on my 4th set this summer. So have fun!
Garwood.

Congrates to your new found freedom.I retired after 40 years with PG&E in the San Francisco Bay Area.Moved to Northern Nevada and now living a low stress life here.Enjoy that Eldo.I hope to put many miles on mine this year.

Thanks for the comments guys, in a way it was a bit of a wrench to go, will miss the great colleagues I've had over the years and all the people I've trained but the old knees couldn't manage another fitness test. Looking forward to replacing those tyres as Garwood says:).

Congratulations!

I tried retirement. I went stir crazy in about 3 weeks.

Hopefully you will relax right into it.

Now I work for myself.

It’s not that bad except the boss is a bit of a prick some days when he’s not being a curmudgeon! :D

I pulled the pin 11 years ago. I can't believe I just said that! I miss a lot of the folks I worked/delt with over the years but three motorcycles and two great states to live in are a lot mot fun. Now I only have my wife and three A holes to contend with. ME, MYSELF andI!
I do win most arguments, though.

I retired 5 years ago from 42 years of motorcycle mechanics and couldn't believe I'd actually had time for
going to work all those years ! And then I get a call in January from my last employer . How'd I like to do a
few transmission recalls on Yamaha FJR 1300's ? The lock down was getting old ( like me ) and I said I'd try 1,
maybe 2 , long story short , I ended up doing 6 ! Way too much work ( and stress ), money was good , so I'm
going to stay retired now , (hey I'm 70 for heavens sake) :D Peter
