Hi,

I am a newbie and replaced the battery. Unfortunately, I lost the picture I took of how the ol battery was connected to which wires.

The main +ve & -ve connectors are easy to identify. There are 2 other connections which are hard to tell - not sure which one connects to +ve and which one to -ve.

Once cable is white, and one is black. Please see attached pics. Will I damage whatever it's connecting to if i screw up the polarities?

I have marked the 2 cables in question with blue hand drawn circles in the first picture.

what do the two connectors operate? if its like my heated grips they arn't polarity sensitive

I am not sure. I got the Guzzi from a guy who kept it in really good condition. I am pretty sure I don't have heated grips. I have removed the battery tender connections, so it's not that either. I think the bike is pretty much stock - I dont see any electronic upgrades.

Would the break light need those connections?

Those connectors look like they go to the PIA light relay in second pic. I would hook white to + on batt and black to - on batt.
Do you have extra driving lights?

Can you not ask the guy you bought it off?

I bought it is 2018 and dont have his number anymore.

I guess you reply indicates that it is important to know and I cannot wing it.

It also probably means that those are for an accessory and not something that powers critical / original functionality. So I should be good to not connect those and just connect the battery to see if th ebike starts and runs properly after this newbie (me) fixed it.

And then worry about those connections is I need to?

You can connect the bike leaving the two unknown wires off then see if anything is not working that was before, if you find what that is someone will be able to tell you if polarity matters.

Are there any extra switches or lights, maybe a power socket. Photos of the handlebars and the bike may help if you are not sure.

Is that doo-dad on the white lead a fuse holder? If so, its probably a safe bet that it goes to the positive terminal, and black to the negative.

THank you V700Steve et al!

Added a photo to show the wires pulled out over the frame.

The wires are coming from the PIAA MLR-4E relay unit, and there is a PIAA thingy on the handle bar and the lights.

I will connect the white to +ve and see try!
