Has anyone looked into replacing the driving lights on the Touring with LEDs? Keep the same chrome housing and insert a round LED cluster in place of the bulb? A company has something that they made up for the Toyota 4runner fog lights, fits the stock holes.

What bulb do they use in the stock driving lights?

It's a standard push in bulb Not sure kof the specs Just starting to look to see if anything was put out there

H8 hes just found my electronic copy I'm wondering if it wojld be possible to adapt the housing to a LED kit or similar

Some quick google searches and I found a retrofit from Rigid Industries, round, 5.65" diameter, rigidindustries.com/led-lighting/63362. Black finish though, kind of wondering if there is anything out there that would allow me to install the LED unit inside the existing chrome housing. I'm sure there is, going to keep searching and see what comes up. The Rigid units are way too expensive, and I'm not sure are exactly what I'm looking for.

The California Vintage uses an H3 bulb. I tried an LED replacement with very disappointing results (not very bright and too blue), and so have ordered a new set from the USA to try.

It's more important to find an LED replacement for the Vintage, as it has limited alternator output, so will eventually drain the battery if used excessively. Well, that's what I've been told.

I wonder what kind of results could be had by just replacing the driving light H8 bulb with an LED bulb? Reflector shape, penetration etc could all be concerns, found some alternatives, may just try and see if the results are worth it, or just work with what is there. Going to keep my eyes and ears open, and see what I can look up.

Look one post above!

Todd. I see the H8 you have listed is high and low beam. Since the driving lights are one beam and contained in that housing these don't look like they will fit or work unless may just wired for one beam.

I just added the H8 bulb to the LED bulb Store page, click picture below and see the drop down Menu...

Hmm, a possibility there. How are the results? How do the lights work? How was it to wire in? What are your thoughts on the change?

I can't really comment on how they would work in the stock housings, however, across the board, everyone who uses the LEDs I carry are pretty ecstatic with the results. If my C14 had driving lights, I'd try the bulbs for sure.

The running lights on the Touring seem to be set up for a close and wide beam spread, more suitable for low beam augmentation. The reflector does not appear to be a driving light pattern. The lamps also switch mutually, so they don't dip with the high beam switch.

Ever watch your voltage when all the lights are on? I have seen mine drop so I would not add 90watts draw to the system. My heated kit doen't draw but a fraction of that.
