Hey all, looking to purchase my first Guzzi (actually my first motorcycle at the ripe age of 45). I am eyeballing a Stornello and was wondering if there is anything in particular I should be aware of. I've read about the fuel filter replacement, anything else to look for or ask the seller?

Also, possibly very touchy subject, but where is a good place to start on price - Bike looks clean, does not appear to have any mods other than a tail rack and has under 3K miles.

It's a 2016, and have not seen it in person since it's about a 4.5 hour drive away - Pics look great though. Asking price is $7300 USD, which to me seems high but only comparing to the asking price for new 2020 leftover models.

They seem to be going for 65 to 75 hundred depending on mileage. Just saw one on the club classifieds w/600mi for 75. There are only so many of them out there also which may lead to a premium price.

Howdy from Frederick County.

About to head out on a hike -- not a ride, darn it -- with my Perfect Pillion & Polish Princess, so little time now for details.

That said, here's a quick cut from my POV.

1. Price is, IMO, high ... comma but. More if I have not been "captured" before I get to that.

2. The only (non-self-inflicted) issue I've had with mine was a warranty-replaced fuel tank because paint started flaking at filler hole. Hard to see that without popping some of the hardware there. Have not heard of anyone else with that. Still, must be a known issue to Piaggio because dealer got an OK on claim on same day I called it in. I had dealer (Richmond Scoot, BTW; only good things to say about them( R&R fuel filter when doing that.

3. If you haven't a V7 and want to demo my Stornello, let me know. Happy to let you do so. I'm not 4.5 hours away, but still a bit of a haul.

4. Bottom line? I have 5 Guzzis. If could only keep one, it'd be the Storny. Makes me grin when I even look at it.

Must go. No time for $ discussion. If I survive the Bataan Death March reenactment this afternoon -- note to self: in next life, don't marry a jockette! :inlove:

HAHA, thanks Bill, appreciate the response!

If I'm able to pull the trigger on this or maybe a new V7 will have to connect for a ride, enjoy the hike!

I was split between a Stornello 12 hours away for $6000 ( 24H round trip) and the Stone 2 hours away for 7000+
Would have been a beautiful ride back along the north short of Lake Superior !

Oh I can imagine! I think $6k is where it should be priced but it’s at a dealer. Maybe I’ll get lucky and have her in the garage this weekend.

A DEALER !!

Ok, make them squirm, don’t tell him you drove in to see it.
How long have they had it in Inventory... ( it’s costing them money to keep it around)

Have some reference adds on your phone for comparable bikes and offer them 6500 to start...
( mine was in Canadian $ )

Huh looking online - not many for sale ( with my googling ) and not cheap !
But there were some nice Low mileage Stone’s for under 5k.
