I just got notification that my box of goodies has shipped from SOCAL, so I thought I would create a thread documenting the before, during, and after the installation of GTM's host of goodies.

I currently have the GTM slip-on (long version). I'll be adding the full exhaust, SAS blockoff, air filter, and the RB Evo Fuel Kit setup by Todd.

First things first - the before video.

In all this excitemen, I have the bike taken down and prepped for the modifications. The fuel tank and full exhaust are out. A few things I noticed:

  • This engine loves to seep oil. At the base of each jug/cylinder and on the back near the transmission and oil pan. I noticed that fasteners tended to be rather loose - so I snugged everything up.
    • Are all the small blocks prone to this? I wonder if the stressed member layout causes more issues like this vs. V7/9? My bike has just under 6,000 miles.
  • The stock primaries are tiny!!!
  • Only one lower shroud bolt head stripped. Those are made of cheese ugh.
  • The bike all stripped down looks like a badass trials bike.
