Hello Guzzi lovers,

I have just done a round trip from London to Brighton to see some friends and as I got home, literally pulling up to my drive the bike completely cut out, no power, horn anything. I'm assuming reg/rec or fuse blown. Has anyone ever had anything similar?

I suppose I should be grateful it happened outside my front door and not on the bloody motorway!

thanks, I'll check out the usual first but seems the Ignition switch is a common issue, which is annoying as its a bit above my pay grade so if its the route of the problem looks like a trip to the shop.

Gotta love Italian wiring.

Update: Its ALIVE! I'm not sure what I did to be honest, just disconnected and reconnected all the wires to the battery and fuses, gave them a clean. Unplugged the battery from the bike and charged it up using the battery regulator. At first thought it was the battery because it was taking charge intermittently even when unplugged from the bike which ruled out a short circuit.

But low and behold after fumbling around eventually it took the charge and turned over. Still doesn't explain why it cut out completely last night but its running like a dream for now. Luckily, think I can avoid buying a new battery or ignition switch

Yeah fair enough, you're probably right. My thoughts were maybe some of the connections or wires just needed a spring clean.

I'll need to figure out how to remove the ignition switch and examine it as that's something that seems quite tricky. I could always send it in for an examination to the garage but Ideally don't want to spend money if the bike is working - but I guess it beats risking braking down on the side of the road and fronting up money for a tow.

yeah true, I've just had a read through the thread linked by GTM. Gonna go and see if I can access the bottom of the ignition switch and see if the wires are suspiciously loose/not soldered properly.
