Hi everyone,

I own my Griso 1100 for about 10 years and keep loving it... No major issues so far also...
One of the small issues I had was a "cooked" oil pressure sensor due to heat, making the light come on with the engine running.
By the time the dealer told me they installed a new one with a special adapter to isolate the heat. This was maybe 7 years ago...
But know I have a different situation...I changed the engine oil today. Usually I fill the oil filter before screwing it in, but this time I forgot. When I turned the engine on I was expecting to see some red light for a couple of seconds while the filter and circuit were filling up (I believe this was the behavior in the past when such situation ocurred). But it didn't happened. The warning light comes on when I turn the ignition key and the bike does the system check.
Is it possible that the sensor "cooked" in the pressure position this time (maybe this is a nonsense,,,)?
Did it ever happened to anyone?

Many thanks in advance for your inputs.

BR,
Matias

These switches have a habit of failing.

For an alternative, try Autozone PS486.

Another one I've noted but haven't tried, Duralast PS158

Just noticed you are in Europe.

I've had them fail going over RxR tracks.
If you have the adapter type it may be the Aprillia sensor. I could never get those to fit on a CARC motor cause of the alt mount bolt but you'll find out.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
It means it can happen, right (the sensor failing to give the low pressure warning, even though the warning light goes on during system check when turning ignition key)?
How bad is it to reach to thi sensor? To you have to tear the bike appart? Any thread about the subject you would recommend?

Many thanks again,
Matias

The sensor is on the upper left front of the engine forward of the cylinder. You many need to lift the tank, (position it to the left for access) and you may be able to reach it with a combination wrench. I don't remember the size off hand. Worst case the airbox may need to be lifted. Do not mistake the cam position sensor as it is close to the oil pressure sensor. The cam position sensor is held in place with two Allen screws.

Thanks.
Do you think it will be possible to get a pressure reading with GuzziDiag to confirm if the sensor has failed?
I have the software and cable because I instaled once a new map.

I was checking the software.
The dropdown boxes list various engine parameters, but oil pressure is not one of them.., (pict attached)
I guess it won't work.

The sensor is a simple switch like a brake light switch, pressure makes light go off that's it

AND read forum rules about discussing that software, yes it's banned here. Just letting you know.
