Rear Griso Tire

What tire are you using?
I got 6,000 miles on the OEM Metzlers (rayon was showing though... oops. Should have been changed at 5  ) and get about 8,000 to the wear bars on Dunlop RoadSmart Dual compound skins with moderate riding habits

depends on tyre ive got rid of tyres at 3000 miles but my Dunlop rdsmart 4500 miles /5000 miles at a push

I have cord showing through on the OEM Metzlers at 3500 miles. I thought that was really quick. The rear on my Breva 1100 went more tghan double that.

I saw 2500 on the original Rennsport... I am running Diablo Strata now.

I just replaced my stock rennsport last week. We need to be specific, because apparently some grisos got shipped with metzler 880s, and others with rennsports.

I got 4600 before the centers wore down to the bottom of the tread. This bike is my commute, so the centers wear a lot faster than the sides do. It didnt quite need replacing just yet, but i get them on super sale at the end of the year, and if the rennsports last for 9 months, the dual compounds should last a year at least.

Im running pilot road 2's now. Havent pushed them yet, but they handle nice!

How the heck are you guy's get so many mile's..... Renn's less than 2000, Michelin's HPS's 2200 and now i'm almost thru my battleaxe BT16's multi comp's in less than 3000.... 3 sets of tyres in 7000mls......Must admit the BT16 front has held up, just about to put another rear on. Hopefully i can get 2 rears for one front (fingers crossed), i'd be happy with that.....

Hi im in uk which helps with tyre life cause half the time riding on wet rds.My tyres wear in pairs i always go for sport touring tyres on G11.You must be in hot country or track daying or riding the wheels off your griso(good on you) :)

No trackdays, but yes i do try and ride to the limit (or should i say, the limit of my ability). Do lots of canyon riding, north on the 33 out of Ventura or south over Mulholland. Usually 70+ temps, at the moment over 100+...But even so, i think i should get more than 2600-2700 out of a multi compound tyre..I can maybe get 500 more miles out of these, but i wouldn't be pushing it (just in case)....That would put me at 7300mls, 3 sets of tyres...that equates to roughly $1000 a year, $20 a week in tyres...Kinda sucks...

If I could ride 33 on my Griso I'd be happy to replace my tires every day! - awesome road!!!!

"Pray for me I drive 33" was the mantra when I owned my first LM1 in Santa Barbara - two lifetimes ago.

Enjoy!

Rennsports Rear lasted ~4K
Diablo Rear lasted 6K
On a Pilot Road 2 now, just a few hundred miles

Mostly dry days, 60% New Hampshire back roads, 40% highway moderate to spirited driving, no racing.

My Renn's looked great when I left for Nova Scotia this summer - with 3000 miles on them. The long highway trip there and back squared them off "nicely" so now I'm shopping some sport/tourings...

The wear bars are just beginning to show at 10kmiles on the Z6. I keep the pressure at 40-42psi. Road surface abrasiveness must be a factor.

I got a bit less than 1200 miles on the stock rennsports before the sides were shagged, doing better with Dunlop Qualifiers, twice the mileage, and good stick for the life of the tire. The griso seems to burn thru both fronts and rears in the so cal mountains with a fat guy ridin...

I noticed the new SE has Pirelli Scorpion Sync's, which are more of a dual purpose tyre? I had a set of these on my Buell, which i managed to get 8000ks out of, most of which was sport type riding in the hills, they hang on surprisingly good!!
My stock Metzeler's are balling up with only 500ks on them? Must be the weight of the Griso! or my stomach!! :(

Until today I had done 3,000 miles on my Pirelli Scorpion Sync tyres on the SE .. about half worn and then along came a nail.
Now have new tyre.
Would have done 6K miles I reckonb.
When this one wears out I'll be asking what does the rest of the world go with on the Griso.
Cheers
