Check That final Drive!

Well boys and girls I'm told the bearing that had developed play was the little one outboard. The brg. was made by SKF. Both were replaced.

That's surprising from an SKF bearing, I use them for 95% of my work, or FAG bearings, nothing else, nd INA bearings for needle rollers. When you say outside bearing do you mean the one directly next to the CARC logo on the housing. If so thats the one Lofty ohn had fail, but it was the alloy housing that got worn not the bearing, much more expensive.
On a lighter note I managed to px the Stelvio today. hard work trying to sell them in UK Seen a few on ebay and there are about half a dozen 08 model, 09 reg ex demonstrators on the market to, but cant get

Yup it was the one you speak of. I was surprised by the fact it was SKF, SKF FAG and Timken are used extensively on Helicopters and they all are known for being quality goods. When you say px , did you manage to sell yours? I'm pretty sure if mine makes the green monster come out and I decide to unload, I'm going to have a hell of a time, not the most popular brand of bike in these parts. I'm getting laughed at for bying 'Italian Junk' by quite a few people I know.

Gary; I see by your other post you did sell it. Hope the shot you you took wasn't too hard!

ROBERTS??? Gary hope you have better luck with the GS. The pompous pilot I work with that has a GS ( you know the unreliable BMWs) has been riding the snot out of his and laughing his ass off at mine hand built Italian thoroughbred. Oh well.
