I guess many of us will be onto second or third tyre sets by now and there is an old thread about achieved mileages. Of more interest than tyre life which is perhaps heavily user and conditions influenced, is the price you have to pay to change them! I have two quotes so far,

Just got 4,500 out of my first rear. Am changing to Conti Road Attacks. Hope they last a bit better!! Most of my 4500 has been 2 up and loaded. Would have expected a bit more, especially during running in period. We'll see how we go with the Contis

What do you think of the Conti's?? My Pirellis have done 3500miles and are done! Apparently prielli is discontinuing the fronts. I have a couple of options and your advice would be appreciated:

New Michelin Pilot Roads - easy option, in stock, cheap
Pirelli Scorpion Sync - liked the set on the bike, expensive and will take a while to get as they have to be ordered in
Conti Road Attacks - got amazing write up on a GS, meant to be best suited to our type of bike, would have to order and get fitted myself.

Not been out in the rain yet?

Just done about a 1000 miles on the Contis. Find them ok but have noticed that if you hit a bit of tar banding or a smooth piece of road they do move about a bit. Didn't get any of that with the Pirelli Scorpion.

I enquired about tyres in a thread weeks ago and it was moved to the tech section out of the way in someones wisdom and now the uk owners are discussing tyres. Pirellis were
