How do I remove the filter on my Griso 8V? I've tried every different filter removal cap & can't get any to work. This filter was replaced by the dealer on first check.
The replacement filter I bought fits into the cap I have fine but this cap will remove the one that's s on the bike.

In the old days when a seized filter happened and the metal straps on the "wrench" was slipping, the boss grabbed a screwdriver and drove it thru the filter. Presto two handles to un torque the thing.

I have a plastic one that has to be driven on the filter scraping the "Grip Surface" off the Fram. but it has worked. Hard to find the uncoated filter for next time. I did have a screwdriver in the tool bag.........

Good luck :ugeek:

The same way I took off my stuck filter on my Norge, I don't think you will have much luck with the screwdriver method I never tried that for fear of damaging the pan. Order a pan gasket, drop the pan the filter will then be exposed then use a strap wrench to take it off. Sounds like you or your dealer rounded off the flutes on the filter by too much torque or using the wrong filter wrench.

Thanks guys. I got it off with a spring loaded adjustable filter wrench. Just BARELY fit. Did not fit all the way up but enough to work. I had a NAPA filter already that the cheap cap wrenches fit.
The dealer had it on a little tight, but at least it didn't leak.
Thanks,
Don-M
PS: Just like the AF1 Aprilia forum, all the answers quick!! I also have a Tuono.
