Hello all Griso's owners,
I bought a new not rode 2006 Griso from an independent dealer last week and it came with a dashboard fail not covered under warranty. Everything at the dashboard runs fine except for the ODO readings that are "0" Km or "334455" Miles and they don't move from there as you ride and Trip 1 and Trip 2 add the real Km or Miles on their digits. The other failure is that I can enter to Diagnostics screen and there are no error codes shown but when I attempt to put to zero the Service interval spanner and select "Yes" the screen freezes there even taking the starter key away and the only way to get out of this screen is to disconnect the battery and reconnect it again.
Have someone experienced something similar and know some way to solve this without replacing the high priced dashboard?

Why is that not covered under warranty if the bike is new?

Hi Altilio
I bought an 06 demo model in June 2008 with 200 kilometres on it.
As it had never been registered for use on the road it has
full 2 year warranty.
Your dealer is either incompetent or trying to rip you off
as I have had a few minor issues dealt with on warranty and a CARC leak will be fixed shortly.
later swagzz

Yes I know, but I bought it from a non Guzzi dealer, in fact a Honda one that bought the bike from the Guzzi's dealer that run out of business here, in fact there is no more presence from Aprilia and Guzzi here in Mexico. But I am trying to procceed against this dealer legally to get my proper warranty. Thanks

The warranty would be from the importer/distributer thru a dealer. If there is no more importer/distributer you might have a problem but since the bike was sold to the Honda dealer by a Guzzi dealer it should have a warranty. Your problem may be finding someone to honor that warranty. But I would think it is possible. You may have to raise a fuss. But if the bike was legally imported then it has a warranty as far as I know.

Finally I bought a New Dashboard from Corsaitaliana at a very fair price and now I have it installed and no more problems.

It may not be mentioned, but the guzzi warranty is ususally covered by the few good dealers, if they get reimbursed for their efforts, I dont know. I had a bike that these and other guzzi dealers helped me figure out the warranty path
