Upgrading fork with Hyperpros

I've purchased a pair of Hyperpro springs for my 12S fork. They should be here by next week.

I'll be having them fitted at a local workshop near my garage. Is there any special care they should take while disassembling/assembling? I recall something about flimsy parts breaking...

Nope, very conventional install for a cartridge fork.

Thanks guys :)

I forgot my GPS charger plugged so the battery is dead :( Whenever they arrive I'll get them installed and have a long trip to test them out and tweak the settings, plus give the battery a good charge.

Around a year ago, Todd (our forum administrator) installed the Hyperpro Rear on my 07 Norge. For the front, the change was to a stiffer spring (from Hypero, I believe), plus a cartridge emulator. The suspension transformed the bike. Before - too spongy, imprecise. Now - taut.

Well, due to the harsh winter the springs took almost month and a half to get here... I'll take the bike to the workshop tomorrow for the install.

I won't be using any cartridge emulator, just the HP springs, which I understand will fit right on with the OEM spacers.
However, I recall something about the springs needing to be mounted upside down due to some diameter discrepancy with the spacers, is that so?

Well, today I've done about 100Km with the new springs and adjusted a bit the rear shock to match the change.

The setup is HP springs for the 1200S + HP 15W oil, 500cc for each leg.

The result is satisfying, the fork being more solid and responsive, specially at low speeds. Bike feels well planted and gives more security on leaning changes.
Right now I have the left screw (preload) at its middle position, and I think the right screw is just 5 clicks from maximum, which is hard. Due to that, on some B roads with bad asphalt, the fork gave me excessive feedback. I'll probably go to -7/8 clicks from max on the right screw.
To match the front I set the rear shock at middle preload, with the screw 5 clicks from max.

The bike feels solid, if too sensitive on rough/bumpy roads, and it doesn't rock forwards and backwards when hard on the throttle as it did before.

All in all, and for being a quite basic upgrade, I'm satisfied.
