Stuck. Need an answer about heated grip plugs

We got the bike all apart, but the plugs we found don't match the color codes on the wiring diagram.

Found and confirmed the fog light plugs, found these others, but like I said, color codes don't match. when we tested them for power, they're showing power (10.4v) when the key is turned on, 12.1v when the bike is idling, and the selection of turning on the heated grips don't make a diff.

Plugs above the right head:

We have the relay, only available placement was in the fuse block beside the others, but it's marked 'Fog'.

What are we doing wrong guys?

The Blue and Black pair of wires in your photo are for the GPS and should have 12 volts when key is turned on. Unable to make out the other wire colours in your photo.

Still do not understand why you have to install a relay as I didn't have to on my Canadian 2009 Stelvio. I detailed the fuse to you in another E Mail as to it's location, were you able to locate that on the drawing and on the bike? Clearly if you were adding fog lights you would have to add a relay but you should not have to for the grips unless your bike is totally different than mine. Would like to help but I appear not to be able to. Best of luck.

Yup... saw that but the colours on these connectors don't match the wiring diagram and there is always voltage even when the grips are turned off. With the key on and bike off they show 10v and with the bike running show 12v and this doesn't appear to change when turning the grips on/off.
This is what is leading us to question if these are the correct connectors.
We have the driving light connectors located... voltage turns on and off with the driving light switch.

We also found the gps connector (we think anyhow) on the left side with the funky plug and boot.
We can't find any other open connectors anywhere...

No relay needed for the grips. It is electronic.

I believe the color of the wires was wrong when I did mine, but that was a year ago.

I believe you DO have the proper wires.

Are you using a digital meter? Throw it in the trash. Use a light bulb, seriously.

The dash senses if you do or do not have grips connected. I would be 99.99999% sure that it applies a voltage, at a low current, to detect the grips. You need to load the lines for it to work properly. A digital meter isn't going make sense of the voltage without a load on it.

Hook the grips to it, there will be heat. Or wire up a couple of small 12 volt bulbs to test it out.

We hooked up a test light to one at a time... so it might not have been good enough to trip the built in controller. :?
Thanks for the response... we will give it another shot.

Shot given. Wired in the grips to those connectors, no heat, controller shuts off like before.

Ok.. thanks to Wayne's help we got it figured out.. the wires in the pic are the right ones... we screwed up turning them on.. we weren't "confirming" the temp setting by holding the switch to the right after setting a temp. D'oh lol

All good now... grips nice and warm!

If you got your heated grips going, then summer must be right around the corner......
