I went for a ride and stopped for gas after about 40 miles. After paying I walked back to the bike and saw a mess splattered all over the rear wheel. When I got home I checked the fluid level at the rear and saw nothing in there. It must have been all over the wheel.

I saw the recall on Guzzi Tech and my frame number qualifies for the recall.

Here is my question. Has anybody in Central Pennsylvania dealt with Ferracci or Europa Macchina? They are the closest dealers to me. Also, Is this a major headache in the future? Anybody else experience this or have a dealer they like?

Replacing a CARC is so simple anybody can do it. It's about 13 fasteners and it simply slips off. A 15 minute job.

If you bought your bike new you should of been contacted about the recall. If you got it 2nd hand it will be important to find a dealer who can ascertain if it has previously been carried out or not.

CARCs eligible for recall lacked a black pressed-steel protective-thrower fitted between the wheel hub and the CARC face. If peering between the wheel spokes you can see the CARC oilseal (often reddish) then it's one of those. The replacement CARCs came with the thrower too.
