Just thought I would put up a little post that will help everyone out incase not every knows. I know that Moto GUzzi has really only been available in Toronto from one dealer for the last few years. If any has purchased a bike through that dealer be aware that your bike and warranty were most likely not registered with Moto Guzzi. If you unsure send me an email with your bikes Vin# and I can check it out.

Send emails to Matthew.Quesnel@bmwtoronto.ca

Bikes from Montreal may be similarly affected. As far as Piaggo was concerned, my used Stelvio (that just travelled across the country) was still sitting in a warehouse, unsold.

Not only did I have to provide complete documentation, but the bike now has to undergo an inspection to ensure the recalls were actually performed. No documentation there either...

Hi Christopher,
Alex bought the Stelvio from the same shop I did .... The dealer did the cam recall on my bike before delivery.
I would be supprised if yours weren't done.
You can always contact Alex to make sure.
PM me if you need his e-mail.

I received the peeled tank cover replacement under warranty. :woohoo:
I'm ASSUMING Piaggo has my bike registered or else they would not have given me the part replacement.

Thanks Dan, I'm assuming the recall was done too. Alex actually saw the documentation at one point, but the dealer kept it. The inspection is likely for legal reasons I'd suspect (being a major deal). No biggie, as it's got to go in for a 20k servicing shortly anyway.

As to "being properly registered with Piaggo", I believe it was something to do with the previous distributor that caused a lack of communication with the parent company. Wasn't a big deal. I just had to email in PDF scans of the original sales documents and my present registration papers. If your bike is still under warranty, it might be worthwhile to have a dealer check the bike's status on the computer. Just in case you have a claim in the remaining period (or another recall occurs).
