G'day,

Has anyone done a custom job on their 1200, I would actually like to change the ride position a bit, Opposite to most, I would like to have my bars a bit lower or my pegs further back, preferably both. The combination of Hand/leg position is something I would like to improve on. My other option would be to add a slight height to the seat.
If I keep this bike I would like to add some personal touches, but struggling to find whats available aftermarket for this bike.
Your thoughts, photos and coments would be appreciated.

Intend to, but trying to find out whats available, in a position to do a bit but hard to source stuff for this model.

Beemer,

If located in the US, Sargent seat http://www.sargentcycle.com/ can do a nice job raising the seat. They did that to my 1100 Breva. I had it raised 0.75 inch, but easily could have done 1.5 inch. Their closed cell foam changed the seat from a 200 miles to sitting on the seat pan (painful), to an all day saddle. As for the bars and peg change, I can't help you.

There are quite a few choices for handlebars. Measure the length and height of yours and find a universal replacement to lower the bars. I put Rizomas on my B11. They are substantially lower and shorter than Sport 1200 bars to the point I had some clearance issues with the left hand switchgear and tank. However, you should be able to find bars that are lower than yours and will not interfere with the tank.

Renthal would be a good source for bars. Many have fitted various Renthal models to their Sports. The seat can be modded by numerous places including either of the Mayer's, Russell, Corbin or Sargent. The pegs would be a job for a machinist. The brake and shifter are adjustable but if you move the pegs very much you'll need to fab rearsets(machinist). Rim choices are limited to stock or spoked Alpina's. You can pimp out your brakes with a Brembo RCS master cylinder and various disc options. Todd has exhausts and there are Sport specific pipes from Mistral, Zard, Agostini and GPR. Todd also offers custom ECU's and Power Commanders. Millepercento has 3 different camshafts.

What exactly are you looking to change?

G'day JohninVT,

Not happy with my Hand/Foot position, I will look at bars, but probably try and get the pegs back about an inch.
Exhaust & ECU are good as I have the Stage 1 kit fitted. I am looking to something about the seat, needs about an inch higher. Just my preference for thing. I have decided to put some dollars into the bike and get some personal touches.

Beemer,
You can buy a cheap set of Buell pegs on Ebay for 30 bucks that will lower your pegs an inch.

MI in Seattle sell adjustable footrests to move the position down or back, or a combination of both. I have two different types, one pair has "round" pegs the other pair has "flat rectangular" pegs. The latter can really only set in one position, or the surface to which you feet will lie will be sitting at an awkward angle. I could take some pictures if you are interested.

You do realize that you will have to grow your feet an inch longer to reach the pedals? :D
