Has anyone done any research on how accurate the speedometers are on the Norge? My V-Strom was almost 10 mph off at an indicated 70mph, but I haven't seen anything written on this topic for Guzzi's'.

I've found the CARC model speedos are more accurate than the prior VagueLiar and ITI brands. I use a GPS to compare (on a flat horizotal road for maximum accuracy).

Is it really important? You're either *trying* to behave or you're being a hooligan/danger to life as we know it/ road hog/menace!

If you want to rely on some bit-of-shit speedo for anything? You're wasting your time. Courts pay no attention to them. Cops pay no attention to them. Try just riding sensibly. I can judge how fast I'm going to within 5KPH. Can't you?

Pete

I have mounted my GPS and find the Norge Speedo very accurate.

Of all the bikes I have owned. O N L Y the Guzzi and Harleys were accurate.

Japanese and BMW's MC's are known to be 20% Optomisitic on the + side !

I always have a great laugh when someone brags how fast they were going on a Japanese bike, then I tell them the truth of the matter.. :^)

According to Garmin I am spot on up until 55 mph then things start to get wacky. At an indicated 90 you are doing 85. At 120 you are doing about 113, and at about 135 you are doing an actual 120. So not to bad really. But definitely not spot on. Do less than 70 mph and you will always be close to accurate.

If my GPS is accurate mine is off 5 MPH at 100 and less at less speed and more at greater speed. I just bet none of em are spot on, would depend mostly on size of the front tire I suspect

Hello;

At "regular" speeds my GPS and Speedo are within 2 MPH... However at elevated speeds there can be a few MPH difference ...

GPS 124
Speedo 130

OOPS....
