I picked up a Norge 2007 over the winter and when I brought it in for a tire and oil change, the service guys did not re-set the computer. I have brought it back to them to do so, but they can't get it right. Not surprising when I consider the level of service.

So... does anyone know how to reset the computer so that the Service Engine message and light will go away??? I am heading out for an 8-10 day trip and I really don't want to keep seeing that red light on the instrument panel!

Also, is the backfiring typical of this bike?

Thanks,

Lou

My "service" guy wasted 3 hours of my time yesterday and could not get it done. I spent 10 minutes at home with my manual and got to the screen asking for the code. I love this bike, but the level of service in Montreal is questionable at best. Looks like I'll have to find a place with a garage when I move.

Thanks very much. I'll look into the fuel mixture as well. Heading out for a +/- 3,500 km trip tomorrow.

Lou

Exhaust leak, yes, but running lean? Lean on air, leading to unburnt fuel in the exhaust you mean? ;)

Not sure I follow you. With my Griso, when it needs service a small wrench icon shows up on the display.
The red warning light and large SERVICE warning only show up when something is wrong and clear themselves when the issue is corrected.

no. These bikes do run a little lean (of fuel). But if the exhaust sucks in fresh air, it will cause the popping on decel as the combustion in the cylinder is never complete.
