As mentioned elsewhere, just 2 weeks ago I spoke with a Piaggio guy who told me it wasn't sure at all that Mandello would re-open, despite an earlier statement from Piaggio (end October/beginning November).

I hope the Ago message is correct, and not just repeating that earlier official Piaggio statement!

The Mandello Del Lario Factory & Museum resumed/re-opened earlier this month with largely scaled back production... and due to the economic times, all future model development has been put on hold for now.

Warehousing is currently being held off-site as well. Read what you'd like into this, but I see it as Piaggio having the plug half-pulled. :unsure:
