Value of '09 Stelvio

There are still some 2009 stelvios new with warranty at some dealers in the USA. I have found them for as little as $9,999. ( riders hill in Ga and rose farm classics in chicago area) I just test rode a 2009 (new) in Wichita Kansas and the very nice dealer there wanted $12,999. ( he would not budge )
I have seen used 2009's in the $10k to 11K range with and without bags. There is a nice one in the classifieds here in southern California for $10,400 with all sorts of neat aftermarket goodies from the owner of this forum but it had no bags. I found one in Tulsa Oklahoma with bags but otherwise stock for $10,700.
I just bought a 2009 with 12k miles...no bags but it does have a garmin zumo and a radar detector in a custom made dash/bar that fits between the windscreen adjusters (very neat) and I paid $8,000 for it.

Personally I think that the value of the used 2009's will go up when all of the leftover 2009's are gone.
When the 2012's come out you might see some 2009's traded in for them and I see the value being in the $10k range depending on miles.
For me, I wanted a bike that had been ridden some ( over 10k miles) because I figured it would have a better chance of being sorted out.
I will probably put a stelvio tank bag on it and I am wrestling with the idea of the cool looking stock panniers. I hear they are not waterproof and I wonder how the latching system works?????

"Still" love my Stelvio - bags work great and no leaks in the rain so far. I have not been in a downpour riding however. Latching is right on and positive. Rigging a handle to the top of each bag could be helpful if you want to lug them somewhere - which I don't. Mine stay on the bike if ride with them (which is nearly always).

Just flew down to Georgia to pick up a new '09 with 2 year warranty for $9995. Probably could have negotiated a few more dollars off put they picked me up and drove me the last 60 miles and it is a long story, but I didn't have time to negotiate. I would say without the warranty and low mileage I wouldn't pay more that $8K
