Looks real nice! Been considering going this route for a new seat for my '08 Norge. A few questions:

Much more comfy than the stock seat? Certainly looks as if if the slant towards the tank has been levelled out some. Is there a larger contact patch with your bum?

How was the install, popped right into place using the stock set up?

And of course, the cost-- whatja pay, if may be so blunt as to inquire...

TIA for any input you can offer.

The seat is more comfy yes, also it lets you sit about an inch closer to the bars which I like. The seat is flatter and has
better grip also you don't sink into it like the old one. The dealer let me test fit the seat from a 2011 norge before I ordered one ,it popped right on np! The price was the deal sealer 220 Canadian.

Interesting - how does the new seat affect the distance between kneecaps and cylinder heads?

Also, I've seen some reports about something (stitching?) not being even close to centred, any sign of such an aesthetic issue?

Is this the lower gel filled seat offered by Moto Guzzi? I installed one on my new Norge when I took delivery because I'm vertically challenged, 5' 7", 29" inseam. It worked well for me, although I could use another Inch or so of lowering. One tip: Don't leave it sitting in the sun uncovered for a period of time! The gel gets hot and will not cool off for a while. Feels like your butts on a hot plate.

The stitching looks to be good on this one, my knees are getting a bit closer but not touching the heads.

Thanks for the info! :)

One more question-- from the pics, it looks as if the new seat would give a little more distance between seat and pegs; but I see you're talking about being closer to the bars and valve covers-- what's the impact to the bend of the knees? I'm about 6'0", and would love a bit more legroom...

Look here https://www.guzzitech.com/forum/topic. ... ent#p48793 My seat solution may not be tall enough for you, I'd suggest adding at least 2 inches for your height (assuming a 34 inch or so inseam).

John, you had Sargent rebuild your stock seat? Any pics? Or did you add the foam yourself?

Chuck,

I had Sergeant do all the work.

I also use a butt pad from Alaska Leather for a little more height and to keep the Alabama sun off the black seat.

That's homeopathic little bit of extra height! ;) I think I used my butt pad only once on the Norge ... made me slide around (back/forth) way too much to my liking. Fortunately it's very confortable on my computing chair too :)

I imagine leather gear might slide on sheepskin, but I ride in Kevlar mesh gear. The Kevlar gives me enough traction/grab/friction to keep my butt planted where I put it.
