On tab 33 from the Moto Guzzi Parts Manual you can see with nr 13 an O-Ring on the rear brake master cylinder rod.
This O-Ring is too big to fit on the rod.
What is the use of this O-Ring ?
After a fall with my Griso I had to dismantle the rear brake lever in order to straighten it.
Having done this I re-installed the brake lever.
Everything functions very well but this O-ring is just hanging there around the master cylinder rod with apparently no function.
As I mentioned the O-ring is too big to fit around the rod and I can see no way to make it fit in or around any other part
of this brake unit.
Can anybody help me ?

Vaguely remember seeing something similar on my Bellagio.
1. Snip!
2. Chuck!
Probolemo solvered!

However, I removed footpeg bracket because the brake lever pivot bolt was loose, and noticed there is no soft stop.
The brake lever hits up against the bottom edge of the foot peg hanger bracket. Something missing or poor design?

Pulled the rear hub from a single sided swingarm Honda VFR750, found a bolt and flat washer sitting inside.
All hardware accounted for, only explanation, sloppy quality control at the factory.

I had the same "O" ring on my Aprilia Tuono. I removed it, but if I remember right, I was told it was there to help hold the snap clip on the shaft. But it isn't necessary, just one of those Italian things I guess!!
