Everyone,

This morning around 4am I was in contact with Gretchen, Todd's wife, while he was still in surgery following a serious accident he was involved in near San Diego. Todd was the passenger of a car that was apparently struck by an oncoming vehicle that came into his lane.

As you can imagine, Gretchen has a few things to deal with currently and Todd will probably not be online until at least the new year. I would ask, on behalf of Todd and his family, that everyone offer a bit of understanding during this time while they collect themselves and Todd hopefully recovers to his full form.

I will be placing a similar message in his auto reply for his email address. In the mean time, if you would, please contact me directly frank@guzzitech.com if you need assistance with the website / forums. I can pass-on information to Todd via Gretchen, but I would ask that we all keep that limited to things that absolutely can't wait until at least the 1st of the New Year.

I am sure, just as I am, everyone is worried about Todd and wish him a quick recovery. As of the phone call last night, Todd did not sustain any life threatening injuries, but does have multiple complicated fractures in his arm and leg that required immediate orthopedic surgery. With Gretchen's permission, I will try to keep everyone apprised of his recovery.

Warmest wishes for full & speedy recovery!
Seems this year has not been the best of Todd, may the new one be better.

Please do not hesitate let us know if there is anything any of us can do from near or far to help Todd and Gretchen through this. Speedy Recovery MON!

Here are pictures from the crash. He was in the front passenger seat, and suffered the most injuries. Todd is recovering in hospital, and we hope he is out sometime Friday, maybe early next week.

Just spoke with Gretchen, and she is touched by the offers to help and send cards. Feel free to use the following address:

Jeez, it could have a lot worse judging by the pix...
Not fair that it always seem to happen to cool folks (I lost a lot of friends on the road, sadly) and I'm glad it's not life threatening.

It's not easy, but when you're not feeling well...hope it helps to know others are thinking of you.
Hope that you'll be better very soon.

Take good care of yourself.

Oh my God, Todd.
You must have some Angels to protect you. I have one too, always sitting on my shoulder... (my lifesaver)
Without them, you're really lost.
Hope you recover quickly and with as little problems as possible.
Also I hope you can enjoy coming holidays, Cristmas and new years eve.

Bad 2011 (for you...) is over in a couple of days... be possitive about 2012.

Cheers.

Best wishes for a very speedy recovery, Todd! Looking at the pics, as serious as your injuries are, it appears it could have been much, much worse.

Kindest regards,

Bruce

I was horrorstricken to hear about this and see the pix yesterday. Terrible accident, but such good news that worse didn't happen!! Todd and Gretchen, our thoughts and love are with you both, and we're sending you healing vibes every day. Do not hesitate to let any of us know what we can do to help, in any way. We love ya both, as friends, and as an indispensable pillar of the Guzzi community.
Please give Todd big (but gingerly?) hugs from us here in Central Cali.

And to have it happen when not motorcycling. Crazy.

Get well soon Todd!

Todd, best wishes from Vicki and me for a speedy recovery. And we all hope you have a much, much happier 2012!
