Hi All,
Just making my first post to the forum and general introduction. The V7 Racer is my second Moto Guzzi having previously owned a 1987 Le Mans Mk IV. Some on this list may remember it and one in particular shimmed its gearbox and did some fettling on it over the time I had it. Oh yeah it burnt to pieces in my garage once too! At any rate I am now the owner of my first smallblock. I am intrigued with the small light weight motorcycle at present and when the V7R came up I couldn't ignore it. It is number 396 of who knows how many were sold. Looking forward to modifying it in the future, but for now I will simply get used to it and just ride along.
One thing I have noticed is a sort of flat spot between 2000 & 3000 rpm in second gear and it runs out of revs entirely at 8000rpm in any gear. Is this normal? I have never had a fuel injected bike before. I purchased it with 2300 kms on the clock so it should be run in I suspect. It also came with the pillion option seat kit. I have just received a recall modification letter in regard to the fuel cap. No idea what that is about as it seems OK.
At any rate I look forward to making new acquaintances, meeting old friends and learning as much as possible about the small block 750.
All the best
