Without wanting to bore everybody with another broken (red) fuel spigot thingy - I really need to have some advice.
Having made myself goggle-eyed trying to follow all the fixes for this problem, I still am no further forward. I don't have machining facilities; I'm in a foreign country and don't speak the language so well ( especially to try and explain what needs doing!) ; I certainly can't afford a new fuel pump assembly ; my bike (ie transport) is off the road( 2008 v7classic).
Soooo does a Breva fuel pump fit?
Can you remove the red spigot as a whole unit( ie without damaging it)?
Is there a spigot/connector that can be drilled and press fitted / glued into place?
What about the other half of the connection - the grey female part?
Can it be removed from the fuel lines ? It seems to be a very permanent type of joint.
Excuses for going over old ground/silly questions but all help and advice would be gratefully received.
Best regards,
John.

Just in case you don't have access to the whole Yahoo thing...

Someone on a forum (can't remember which one), wrote that if you disconnect the fuel pump, and then turn the engine over a couple of times for 5 seconds, it's much easier to disconnect due to pressure being released on the fuel line.
I tried this, and it was like magic.
It really did work for me.
My local Guzzi dealer was telling me a horrible story about a V7 Racer they had in, which was having a new frame under warranty.
Another dealer had taken the tank off and damaged the spigot, causing fuel to constantly drip out.
This eventually took paint off the frame.
