Griso windscreens: MPG ? Handling ?

egg,
Check the link below, it is for the Griso Picture Thread page 21 (near the bottom of the page) which is in the Griso-Bella Chat & Tech section. It should be of some help, if not I'm sure if you look through the other pages you are likely to find a picture that will give you the info you need..

Saab,
I can't hold back any longer.
Surely you are taking the piss out of us with that suggestion?
To my eye the Griso is one of the best looking motorcycles of any brand going around and I can't think of a better way to destroy the overall looks of a beautiful motorcycle than fitting that fairing.
However as I have said may times, everyone has their own opinion and I respect your right to fit any mods you like to your own bike.
It sure would be an interesting combination but I just can't imagine it looking anything but ugly.
If you are serious, good luck with it.
Mark

I suppose it may be a bit much. ;)

Mark and Beetle:

Thank You so much for the install info. It saved me A LOT of time dicking around. Done in 20 minutes. 400 miles later working perfectly.

Thanks again.

I think I'll have to find one of those medium screens.

Griso windscreens: I took mine off! Too loud.

I was able to do a 400 mile ride yesterday on the twisty roads of north/central PA. This was my first full day in the saddle of my Griso (8 am - 6 pm). I was enjoying myself, to say the least. :cheer: This was my shakedown ride before doing the MGNOC rally in VA in a month.

Regarding the MG bikini wind screen. This came with the bike and looks great. However, even with ear plugs and a full-face Nolan flip-up, the wind noise was taking its toll on me in the last 25% of the riding day. I could sit up more (kinda unnaturally) in my posture, and the noise went near silent. My head just a few inches up did so much. I suspected the bikini. So today I removed it and went for a spin. The ride was as quiet as a church mouse. :cheer: I could tell right away. Since this bike is primarily my summer bike, no screen will be fitted. If I decide at some point to make this a sport-tourer, then I will try the larger screens. But for now, mission accomplished on the wind noise problem. Too bad. I like the look of the screen.

Regarding the footpeg placement. My legs were really sore on this ride. I'm not really sure why. I'm used to a vstrom seating position where you don't use your legs as much to flick the bike in corners. Perhaps I have to work out my legs more? I don't think I need to lower the pegs, as I'm only a 29" inseam. Still thinking about this one, not too big a deal. It's just harder to stand up on the pegs in small towns on the Griso vs. the Vstrom.

Suspension: I think I have the suspension pretty close, but it's still a little to stiff for my liking. Overall, the bike was planted in the corners and didn't jar out my fillings. Still need to experiment with settings.

I'm also a Crampbuster user. I decided not to use one on the Griso. My hand felt a little sore, but overall, I don't think I'm going to use one.

Mileage was fine. I'd say between 35-40 mpg.

Bottom Line: I saw about 100 bikes yesterday on my ride. There isn't any one of them I would have rather been on than my l'il ol' 2007 red Griso. I can't wait until the next big ride!

Another Givi A770 fan here. I don't get any buffeting but I do get a bit of a speed wobble when the throttle is wide open which is rare these days.

That's what I ran a Givi A770 looks like it was made for it and works great. Best way to go imho. ~T~

Hate to break it to you guys...
Givi no longer makes fairing, only clear screen type deal.
The 770 has been discontinued but also the 755 and 750.
Sucks...

Just fitted Guzzi's own flyscreen to my G11 after waiting 12weeks for delivery. Easy enough to fit to pre-drilled and tapped holes under botton yoke . Like it a lot , its just big enough to take some of the wind pressure off the upper body without altering the look of the bike and i'm 6' 3 .Just annoyed at the length of time it takes for Guzzi to get their act together to supply basic parts . Originally ordered it 6weeks before a trip up to John o' Groats ,but nothing appeared despite phone calls to a reputable dealer, whose hands seemed to be tied. It landed 6 weeks after the trip . Suppose better late than never.

My dart screen on the griso, smoke tint, this is the V7 kit with minor mods(bending the support frame) to fit :).
moves some of the wind of my chest, helmet is still in clean air, not a full touring screen but its not a touring bike(well ok my first ride was 2000k's in 36 hours but that was to get from Adelaide to Sydney  ..

Next job get the Dart ABS screen and paint it white...

Scot.

Hi Scot. Do you have some bigger images maybe? And/or not so dark, like taken outdoors? Can't really see what you have there.

I've scanned the instructions. Here's the pertinent pages.:

Screen Instructions 1

Screen Instructions 2

Screen Instructions 3

Screen Instructions 4

If you have trouble aligning everything, try loosening the screws that fix the light bracket to the lower triple clamp.

Good luck!
Hi there, I am facing the same screen install conondrum, a box of bits and no instructions. Unfortunately the links to the original scanned pages has been lost - do you still have the originals? Best regards!
