I am the proud owner of a 2011/2012 Moto Guzzi Stelvio NTX , i am busy on a major service , I have only done 2800 km but want to do this so as to learn the bike , I will be travelling through the Namib desert [in southern africa,Namibia] on her , and would rather learn the bike in the comfort of my very well equipt workshop than with minimal tools and equipment on the side of a dirt track! , I have learned to remove the front fairing and the tank with help from the guys on this forum. I have found the fuel filter at last , But can someone tell me ,where ,in all the literater which I downloaded off the web ,is any mentioning made of the fuel filter, how to replace and when? it is as if the filter doesnt exist!!! its amazing!!!

A lot will depend on how dirty the petrol is, in Namibia it may well be dirty - from rust or dust etc etc

Otherwise the manual does make mention of checking the fuel pipes every 12 months or 10,000km which I would take to include checking the fuel filter, but if your petrol is prone to be be dirty then you may need to check it more often. If the fuel filter is dirty wash out ,if you can, if not or it is still dirty replace it.

If you can afford the time consuming inconvenience, something like this may come handy:

Surely the filter is a lifetime version.
Sounds like a great trek like our friend Andrea of Stelvio2Stelvio.it. He's done 50k km so far with no issues with fuel.
I would practice pulling the pump assembly and ordering a few fuel filters and submersible fuel line if it's a concern for you. Both are well covered on this Forum.
