Throttle bodies linking rod issue

Yesterday I was riding back from the Dragon in NC/TN. I stopped at a red light; much to my surprise, when the green came on, the engine would die instead of revving up any time I turned the throttle, but it idled fine if I did nothing.
A quick glance showed what the issue was:

I couldn't freakin' believe it - the rod on the right side had come off its ball joint on its own.

Apparently, the plastic socket has worn on the inside to such an extent that I had to insert in it a small piece of aluminum foil from a candy wrapper to make it stay put and ride back home.

Has anyone else had this problem?

What worries me is that the rod and plastic sockets are not listed in the parts manual - does this mean that the WHOLE throttle body will have to be replaced?

Sorry to see/hear, but glad it was an easy fix for now.

These are actually available all metal with a small clip to hold it in place. A good Auto Parts Store (actually check your local Mercedes Benz dealer too) or metric fastener company will likely be able to get them (I had a few, but I'm now out). Also note that one side is likely reverse thread, and that the A & B shown below (and the distance between the two for T/B balance) is *critical* to match the existing should you replace them.

Yes,my 2012 griso has exactly the same issue.even the same side

I have a 1200 Sport 2007 75,000miles with a similar problem that will need fixing soon .
Fortunately I am a toolmaker so I have measuring equipment to set the correct length.

The mechanic at Moto Corsa in the UK said it was a common problem
