I have a dream of SOMEDAY owning a Griso (11 or 12 no idea yet) BUT I myself have never owned a guzzi. What would be a good bike to get into to learn about guzzi kinda of a foot in the door bike to start my addiction? Im 26 years young and I tend to like a more upright riding position I have been riding an 84 honda interceptor 750 for the past 4 years so thats the style im accustomed to. Now the deal breaker is I want to try and find a good used bike in the ball park of 3-$4000.

I know its all off personal preference but I just would like others opinions with roughly the same riding experience I have or more

Thank you

I CANT wait to own a guzzi they are just great looking machines and very rare around my neck of the woods which is appealing to me.

Get yourself a Breva 750. A fair number on the used market in your price range with low milage. I just picked one up, an 07' with 3100 miles, it looks showroom new. All the reviews on this bike talk about what a great bike it is, and i could not agree more. :D

Two factors come to mind. The bike that excites you, and the one you can afford. A purchasing decision requires commitment to the machine, and to your funds. It needs to be a personal choice, not necessarily from a recommendation by someone else.

Hi ,
unfortunately with 3/4 k you will never be able to get a Griso , that's the market....
I see you are 26 years old.... mmhhm if i were you i would look around to get either an "old" jackal and with few modification change the rider position ( sear set and sporster handle bar. )
The jackals are pretty "cheap" , you can find one in good cond. for 3K.

Don't you like the V11 ? the models made between 2000 and 2005 are in your price range too....

here few examples..

good luck

A friend of mine got a new bike, not a guzzi, last year after doing loads of research reading bike magazines. On a ride this year we switched up bikes and he realized that he finally found a bike he likes to ride; my Breva 1100. So this may seem obvious advice; test ride lots of guzzis. There's one draw back of guzzis being relatively rare.

But on the other hand you're already headed in the right direction. You can always make mods to what ever you get to suit you. Maybe later after you're riding your guzzi with other guzzi riders you'll have more opportunities to test ride a variety of guzzis.

thank you all for the helpful adivce and oh i deffinatly know that I cant get a griso on that price I know I am going to drop around 7-9k on one. Ill have to look more into the brevas i kinda have overlooked them most of the time I have been looking into the cali's but not too sure about the foot forward riding position but im sure I could get use to it. I do like the v11 BUT how much of a lean does it have while riding? I am going to have to hunt around for a place where I can test ride some bikes. thanks guy/girls

I am looking into this bike alot more now thanks. I think this may be around what im looking for as an introduction to guzzi. its like my bike but not 25+ years old

I have a 2007 Griso 1100 w/ 4,250 miles, Termi slipon and factory warranty left until June of 2013 I currently have forsale. It certainly will cost more than what you want to spend but trust me, buy the bike you want or you'll never be happy with what you settled for. I have seen it time and time again. You'll keep trading up until yu get twhat you want, and everytimg you trade up you loose lots of cash.
