Has anyone come up with a solution to deal with the doors on the panniers warping?
Bob

I ended up adding an additional latch.

The lid had gotten so bad that there was a gap in the front upper corner where the lid did not meet the body of the pannier any longer.

I don't load these things up full so this was unexpected.

So I added a latch in the front of the bag as high as I could before the curve to the top. It's not great but it keeps the bag closed and doesn't let the water in anymore.

Yo could ditch the cheesy stock bags and just put on good Hepco Beckers and be done with the issue all together.

While I agree with you that Guzzi could have done better with the luggage and I do really like Hepco-Becker "journey"
hard bags (used on Buell), I don't like all the mounting hardware that shows when the bags are off. I like the clean looks of my Norge with the bags off on the occasion I ride with out them. I'll just add an extra latch I think.

My extra latch cost something like $10.

I'm pretty sure that any set of replacement bags and racks will be exponentially more expensive.

Exactly what kind of latch did you put on? I finally got around to looking at the bags and the latches I was thinking of are to big.

I think I got these from McMaster-Carr.

In the second picture I put the clip about where the clamp is under the cover. I bought the stainless ones and while they look better than the yellow metal the others came in the threaded rod was quite weak and stripped out easily. I traded the threaded rod with one of the regular metals ones I bought and it has held up well.

Here you can where I mounted it. There was no math done during the decision process of where to put it and I just mounted it where it looked like it would fit well.
