Spark Plug Pipe: off w/ valve cover or stay in head ?

I've noticed that when removing the valve covers on my Griso 8V.
On the right hand side; the spark plug pipe always comes off with the valve cover.
And on the left hand side; the spark plug pipe always stays in the head.

I assume every time a valve cover is removed.
Those o-rings (one in head and one in valve cover) for the spark plug pipe become closer to being worn out.

So I'm thinking that with the right hand side pipe always coming off with the valve cover.
The o-ring down in the head is more likely to wear out and start leaking,
the o-ring in the head leaking would be more troublesome than the o-ring in the valve cover leaking,
and the o-ring in the head would be harder to replace than the o-ring in the valve cover.

Is my thinking correct ?
And what can I do to keep the spark plug pipe in the head when removing the valve cover ?

Yes I would replace the right side lower O ring next time you take the covers off, My tubes have always stayed on, The first time one comes off with the cover it will get replaced as a precaution.

Since the very first time I removed the head covers on my G8VSE I've noticed the same issue ett describes (on the left side instead of the right). Replacing the o-ring didn't seem to make much difference in my case. No big deal anyhow - never had any issue with oil leaking into the sparkplug area.

Gently rocking/turning the head cover to the left and right while pulling it up (rather than just pulling straight upwards) does seem to reduce the incidence of the unwanted "phenomenon".
