I read in another thread somewhere about shortening the turn signal stalks. It took me about an hour and cost nothing but the time to do it. The turn signals have 1.5" blocks between them and their mounting points. All you do is remove the blocks and shorten the mounting screws.

I had them removed from mine, you can see them in my before and after thread. The only thing I have to fix are the mounting bolts on the front signals which are too long now and don't allow for the mounts to be tightened down.

Looking good,

Obie, I installed shorter bolts on the front, the problem is, is that no matter how much you tighten, the signals rotate. It needs a keeper pin or something similar. I'll try to resolve while it's here. I tried a little glue, but that clearly didn't work.

I love free mods, gotta try this one. Thanks for posting.

I already trimmed up my plate area, totally different look. I'm actually surprised at how much better it looks. I originally hesitated to do it. I'll have to post a pic for you.

Thank you,

I silicone glued a wave washer to the turn signal stalk. The inner diameter fit the stalk and the outer diameter fit the hole in the headlamp ear. Rotation problem fixed.

Good fix, and easy too.

Look at the turn signals on the 2013 European version. The lenses are clear. I think they look great.
