Griso 8V Stucchi Crashbar Question

Just received a set of Griso 8V Crashbars (Stucchi). The package contains, In addition to the two bars and three bolts, a small L shaped metal plate and a small screw. Does anyone know what the small plate and screw are for ? The installation instructions make no reference to them.

just got done installing the bars. The plate and screw were to relocate the rear brake fluid reservoir a little lower (At least that's how I ended up using it) so it doesn't rub against the larger head of the new mounting bolt behind it.

Greyo - thanks for the pointer. I had already seen the thread but decided to give the bars a shot anyway. I am not a frequent/aggressive rider (at least not yet) so not too worried about long term ruggedness at the moment. I am more worried about a scrape or bump going in or out of my garage where I have to squeeze the bike between two cars. Also, if/when I drop my bike, it will most likely be a gentle tip-over (fingers crossed) caused by a shoe slipping on my epoxy coated garage floor slickened by rain water brought in by one of the cars (it's almost happened once already). Plus nothing else came close aesthetically. I figured I would drop a couple hundred bucks on these hoping that if, before these bars rot away, they can save me a single small mishap, they would have paid for themselves.

Just curious.
Gaurushab, is the weld pattern on your crash bars the same as the photos in Greyos thread?

Seems to me that Stucchi can easily improve the welds with an extra 1-2 minutes of added welds.

Here's what mine look like.

Interesting - the welds look much thicker and more carefully crafted than those on the two sets that failed on my bike.

Mybe the folks @ Stucchi have finally decided to fire the village-idiot welder and replace with a new one who knows his craft...

Please, keep us posted on how your crashbars "behave"...

Cheers,

Greyo

Just what i was hoping to read..as to the village-idiot welder, he/she may have been moved to the packing department as my crash bars were shipped without the instructions sheet. Per MGCycle it's been happening quite often.

Just curious: is the repositioned rear-brake fluid reservoir interfering in any way with your right leg/foot as you ride?

nope. it's lowered only by a couple of inches so it's still high enough and still to the "inside".
