There's a noticeable but slight rattle, which seems to come from the front of the motor . It's more apparent when the engine is cold but less so after it has warmed up. Don't have a workshop manual as yet, but assume there's an automatic tensioner for the cam chain . Bike's done 13000 miles . I'm not that concerned about it but would like some advice . Cheers

John, there is a (non-user adjustable/or easy to get to) auto cam chain tensioner, but perhaps it might be something more related to the timing belt(?). Cam chains do make noise in time, and perhaps certainly more then when new, but I wouldn't be too alarmed. This your first Guzzi?

Yes it's my first Guzzi , had it exactly a year, wish i'd got one years ago to be honest, but it's only in recent years that i came to be wondering what they were like. The rattle has been there for a while, but can't remember if it was there when i got it, bought it with 8000 miles on the clock. It certainly hasn't got worse at all, don't think it's clutch chatter as it sounds to be at the motor's front. Could be a foible , but thought i'd ask on here first before i had a closer inspection .

I had an annoying rattle coming from the front of my G11
after tearing what little hair i had left out checking stuff
it turned out to be a ill fitting headlight surround :?

Had a badly fitting headlamp rim when i first got the bike , tried a few different ways to try and sort it out, but after a mile or two on bumpy roads the annoying gap would appear again. After a while the poor design chrome plastic screw retainer broke away . Made do with insulation tape wrapped round the rim for a while , no one even noticed and it even lined up properly . Got a new one off fleabay a bit back, same as V7.
