No "this forum" topic, I'll put this here. Please move it, if there is a better place.

I do not know if I had a private problem or was it a more general one. I was used to waiting 5 to 10 seconds after clicking the forum for anything to show up.
Now, during last couple of days the usability has improved a lot. It takes only 1 to 2 seconds for this forum to load. Well done, whatever You did.

.

I hadn't thought about it until I read your post but I see it now:eek:hmy: Loads quicker too ! Then again it could be the power of suggestion:unsure:

:( Now we are back in original problem and situation. It takes a half minute after each click for the page to load.

My first post was not intended to be read like it were a complaint. Sorry.

.

PS: Or it might be... Now: IE + XP -> slow, yesterday: OSX + Camino -> fast

Same here (OSX + Opera or Omniweb). Seems almost as if requests or responses take a while to get to or from the server (or it's running some sort of filtering/virus-checking firewall?).

Loading a page in another window just gave me the message "the server didn't respond: Could not read body". I've been seeing that regularly these days. Oh well, should be working anyway...

Xp or MacOS or Linux and Firefox or Outlook and ADSL or Fiber; Occasionally....

I'm using a pedal wireless which makes for time to enjoy a beer while waiting for the page load!

My thought is I don't think the OS has much to do about it. Speed is more due to internet speed via DSL,cable modem or dial-up. Of course dial-up would take the longest. Cable modem can slow up due to the amount of people on line and DSL is over the phone line so i am sure that can vary. I have DSL and notice at times it to be faster then other times.

Well, I have 10M/10M VDSL connection at home. (And "fast enough" connection at work, if I were to use my lunch brake to surf...). And still these pages have been always painfully slow until this week. No, it is not the "last mile" connection speed.

At the moment they seem to be quite fast so I do see improvement. Good.

Sorry for the delay in replying to this thread, been a little busy... We did some "tuning" on the server... glad to hear it helped.
