...Hello everybody :) This is my first post, I've been lurking here for a coupla years. I have a 2007 Breva V1100 in need of an oil and filter change, I'm assuming this because of the wrench icon that appeared on the readout a coupla days ago. I don't see the service as being any more difficult than my Jackal, the challenge will be in resetting the service warning on the dash. I'm assuming I'll have to enter a code in the diagnostic menu, do any of yous guys know the steps to accomplish this? To make things more interesting the bike has Norge switchgear. TIA!! :D

Go to the downloads and get the Breva General Service manual. This explains how to navigate the menu. In addition, the service codes are listed in a sticky topic in the CARC section. Use the code for the "joystick" bikes. The torque for the filter is 15 Nm. Also just put in about 3.6 liters of oil. Much more and you can have excess oil in the airbox.

Thanks for the 411 on that. I stumbled thru the menu when I first got the bike, setting the clock, but I haven't fiddled with it since except to reset the trip odo when I gas up. I long for the halcyon days when cars and bikes didn't have brains, and people did.

That was my brother's B11. He only sold it because he fell in lust with a new Norge he saw while having the Breva serviced at Rider's Hill.

I still think that the Breva 1100 series is among the best of the Guzzis. Especially when equipped with bags and w/s as is yours, is about as fine a do-anything motorcycle as there is. And, of course, that is even better when it is in the proper color for an Italian motorcycle.

Trust it will bring you many miles of smiles.

The oil&filter change was pretty straightforward. The idea of toggling thru the readout conjured horror stories of BMW's infamous iDrive interface, but I had the service indicator reset in a coupla minutes and there were no fault codes in the ECU or dash.

The only issue was removing the old oil filter. The 14 flute wrench that fit the new UFI filter perfectly, didn't work at all on the old filter, even though they had the same part# 2328700. Judicious use of force, applied with groove joint pliers made quick work of the removal.

Bill, I plan on riding the hell out of the bike, as soon as I can afford a new set of tires. I'll probably go with the same ones your brother put on it. I'd like to do some Avon Storm STs, but I'm a cheap bastid

Skin,
Food- good to hear fun you. Haven't seen you on WildG. Congrats on the B1100. I just bought a red 1200sport, so we're on the same course. You might consider looking into the sidestand issue as sell as lube with the swingarm pivots, shock linkage, and drive shaft.

Hope all else is well working for the Evil Empire.

Jonathan
