I replaced the main CARC seal after 4k miles or four years and three oil changes.
It is leaking again but no obvious movement in rear wheel. The seal was from a Guzzi dealer.

Is this ususal or a problem area with Guzzie searls or is it likely that the main bearing is causeing excessive moevement?

P.S. I hate this resyling or the forum in black. Not natural. Seach keywords are hardly readable in a search and you cant see links you have clicked on as they are too similar a shade of dark grey to the unclicked links.

I am also NOT enjoying the new format. Way more difficult to read via smart phone. Too busy and not as clear as old version. ..

Not expert on carc seals, not heard multiple failures but sure someone like Pete Roper will answer with expert knowledge.

If you aren't detecting any movement from the bearing, there may be an imperfection where the seal rides. I'd remove the CARC and with the seal out carefully inspect where the seal rides. If might be advisable to polish the seal running surface with emery cloth to remove imperfections too small to see. I'd tape off the bearing before polishing and carefully clean away any material from polishing before removing the tape.
