I really like the red hubs on my Racer, but I will admit the new alloys have their advantages. I found this bike on Facebook. Anyone know how to dress up the "spokes" like this?

I guess those are the standard wheels from a V7 Stone and someone has very carefully removed the paint finish off the edges with some fine grade abrasive then polished the bare metal. But knowing a set of those wheels are around £600 in the UK I'd ask an expert to do it for me!
 
I agree with Will about the wheel choice, but the light lines may be painted considering the look of the rear drive unit.
 
Yes, they are V7 Stone wheels.

I think Will is right on all counts. I just haven't got the wherewithall to do that kind of mod. The pics I posted bigger, btw. The forum software scaled them down to fit in a narrower space. :(
 
Ive seen a few like that which have been skimmed on a lathe but the final drive housing must have been done by hand. Too labourious
 
Tough to tell from the photos, but it's also possible it is rim tape that has been applied to the spokes.

It must be paint. the color is too white to be the aluminium wheel.
