Stucchi Hugger, any issues?

Hi all
I am thinking of adding a Stucchi Hugger to my new Griso but I am concerned about how the device is fitted to the CARC. I understand that the hugger is clamped on the torque arm but my area of concern is how the hugger is butted up against the front of the CARC.

My question is, does anyone who have one of these experienced any adverse effects? I am thinking specifically of vibration removing CARC coating or erosion of the hugger itself.

I have searched and read a fair bit of the forums postings on "hugger" and thus far have not seen anything mentioned about it, because of this I guess my concerns may indeed be baseless.

All the best
Pete

I don't have a Stucchi, but my Skidmarx hugger does the job with no adverse consequences.

I bought the Stucchi version for my Stelvio and it works fine. I had one of the nuts pull through the carbon material and had to glue it back in since they had not properly deformed the nut to hold it in place. The attachment point has a rubber cushion so it stays snug and in place. Overall, I'm happy with it.

Hey Pete,

I added the Stucchi carbon hugger a few months back and it works great - no problems! Looks great and very easy to install and does quite a nice job in keeping the shock nice-n-clean!

Cheers,

Ed

In comparing the two photos, I'm struck by how much shorter the Stucchi is. One thing I like about the Skidmarx is that it not only keeps dirty spray off the shock, but also keeps luggage and fender well clean and dry.

I have a CF one on my Griso. After 500 or so miles, no issues. Mounting is still tight. It bumps up against the swingarm with a small rubber bumper so not a lot of contact. No cracks either. Great addition overall.
