I searched so I apologize if this has already been addressed.
I am seeing two different specs for gearbox lube for the Griso 1100
one is for
Rotra MP/S 85W 140
and the other is for
Rotra MP/S 85W 90

can someone point me towards the more current spec?
Thanks

Neither the gearbox or bevelbox on the CARC bikes have ever used an 85/140. That has only ever been specified for the smallblock bevelbox.

For your Griso a high quality synthetic gear oil with a viscosity of between 75 and 90 weight is just fine in both the gearbox and the final drive.

Thanks for the reply Pete.
I found the 85w 140 spec on page 85 of the Griso use and maintenance guide #06.90.00.00
I think I may have even downloaded that from Guzzitech.

Guzzi owners and maintenance manuals are know to be full of errors. You just found another one due to lazy technical writers.
