Gday. Years ago I read a post regarding the removal of the warning decal on the petrol tank. I didn't absorb what I read as I thought Id leave the decal there. But now the decal has frayed around the edges, time for it to go. Maybe I will be left with a "redder" area where the decal was but can anybody suggest how to safely remove said decal? cheers.

IIRC I used a heat gun set on low to warm the decal, then it simply peeled off.

Hairdryer worked for me. Less chance of melting the tank. Does not need to be warmed up much. Just to loosen the glue then peel it off. Use WD40 to clean off the remaining glue.

Thank you folks ,decal safely transplanted to the fridge in my shed. And yep the colour had faded on the tank. Cheers to the Guzzisti.

You had a warning decal on a Griso? G11 or 12?

I am curious, because I never had one (and would have removed the hell out of it if I had). Mine is a UK bike though.

Guzzi Hero, my bike is an 06 1100, the sticker was just in front of the seat and said "always pull the clutch lever in during the engine start" I never have. Dunno why I thought Id leave it there. I have left the sticker near the tank filler cap that says "unleaded fuel only", The gold writing on the red tank looks good!!
