Hi,
Have the NTX now, rode her home yesterday :D

Question, trying to cross reference the oil filter for the bike.
Has anyone fitted the Scotts oil filter ?? Would this one fit the NTX ??

Been using one one on my FJR's since 2006.

I can source the Hiflo HF551 local I think.
Want to purchase a few consumables before the first service.

Cheers

Hey why don't you just use the factory one? There fair in price easily available and if you have any problems ( I hope not) with warranty claims you've done the right thing...
Hope you enjoy your new ride.

There isn't a Guzzi dealer around, maybe Boyd Young the local Suzuki dealer is ?

Have a few part numbers, off the see what I can find.
I'll try for the Bosh 3330 or the HF551, order them in at least.

I'll make sure I can get the oils local as well.

Cheers

The Bosch 3330 is a recommended filter, also the recommended torque is 15 Nm. BTW, the 3330 is the same as the oil filter used by BMW (Bosch makes it for BMW) so the BMW filter wrench for early K and R series oilhead (pre 1200s) is a perfect fit.

Hey Ken, if you find a Scotts that fits let us know, might try one in the Bellagio.
Mine is internal.

Ps, might be able to get them cheaper as well.

Hi ken,

The HF551 I use always - good stuff if you can find them. Any HifloFiltro dealer will be able to get them for you - I usually order three or four at a time and put them on the shelf. 20 odd bucks a throw, coupled with Penrite ten tenths oil (Repco stock it) and you are good to go.

Did a tour of Toowoomba, no luck so far with the filters.
(Sometimes I feel that I moved from one hic town to another.)
Will looky around next week and visit a few other dealers.

Gave one automotive acc place the numbers and they couldn't cross reference them.
I can get them off the net, not a problem.

I just may send Scotts an email, as they suggest. I feel that they may too larger diameter to fit up in there.
There website is http://www.scottsonline.com/Product_Mod ... to%20Guzzi
The two Guzzi makes there have the same part #'s, the S4, so they fit other modles, maybe.

Copied from Motorcycle info
Most of the Guzzie Oil Filters listed :
have 3/4" x 16tpi threads,
8 psi by-pass valve,
anti-drain back valve.
and are about 3" / 3.5" long

And the recommended filters are:
Purolator PL14476 / PL14477
Mobil1 M1-102
Bosch 3330
Walmart Supertech ST4967 / 4386

I'll most likely visit Brisbane next week and try to get a few Bosch 3330's or the 551's.
Thanks guys

Ps Hi Oz1200Guzzi. When I had my 78XS11, I ordered bulk filters for it. like to keep a good stock of service items.

I've used the HF551 and Ryco Z418 interchangeably on my Cali and Breva 1100 for years. Neither of them have leaked - unlike the UFI. It's the same filter as used on the Toyota Landcruiser V8.

Thanks Mackers,

Can get the Ryco filters local, Repco and Auto Barn sell them.
Some of the FJR owners use the Z411 with no problems.

Was trying to X reference to the Ryco today.

Cheers
