Just got it firing!
Got my Griso back from the local shop with maladjusted steering head bearings and I'm going to fix it myself.
Question: The Shop Manual under the category Front Suspension gives the following torque values:
Headstock Ring Nut: 40Nm
Headstock Counter Ring Nut: manual + 90 degrees
I've always done it by feel. Do you really have to preload the steering bearing to 40 Nm on the Griso?
Thanks for your help.
