I have been looking for a new wall clock for the shop, and stumbled on the Guzzi accessories metal bacon-slicer flywheel replica work-of-art pictured below (which BTW, isn't available in the states!?). Opened it up, popped a battery in it, and it worked for 30 seconds and quit. No "movement" in the Taiwanese motor. I swapped the "movement" from the clock it was replacing (that was 7+ years old), then for frustrations sake, put the same battery in the one I removed. It, of course, worked. So I guess I now have a spare motor.
So see, it's not just the bikes that need tinkering on.
If anyone is interested in one, I can get them for ~$99 + shipping. They are ~14" in diameter and made of stamped aluminum.
