So, I've been working on my bike and have the tank off and throttle body out and I noticed this plastic/rubber part just laying on top of the engine underneath the tank (see pics). And I have no idea where the hell it was or if it was ever even inserted into something to begin with. I don't recall accidentally pushing something else out during tank or throttle body removal. Wondering if anyone can ID this part (I know it's a long shot, but it has me perplexed). I'm not too worried about it because it doesn't look like much, but y'know...it causes a wee bit of anxiety. Thanks.

Yes, this is the support right under the throttle body where the Y-shaped intake boot (throttle body hose, as the parts manual calls it) joins. This part itself is not in the fiche but the opening where it plugs in can be deciphered; it's formed by the two halves of the airbox.

You know, that is where I thought it went but it wouldn't insert easily at all so I ruled it out. I guess I need to separate where they join a bit with my fingers and stick it in there? If I understand you correctly (and can read the photos correctly) then that's the correct location, right under where the throttle body inserts?

Thanks again for pinning down where that part went. I was shocked when you responded quickly with that diagram and what not, very helpful. Thank you.

Sure thing! It's definitely where it goes -- apply a bit of pressure and it'll pop right in...

Looks like one of the rubber spacers the seat sits on. There are two of them on frame at rear on my Norge. Just a thought.

I've found a little waterless hand cleaner is an excellent lubricant when installing these types of parts. Give it a try, should press right in. It is also good on tank mount rubbers as well. Tanks will slide on much easier.
