Alternator belt. "I think". Had the bike in for service, 20.000k. Vales check, cam, oils and i had the some of the emissions removed.
No more back fire, smooth at low RPM and pulls hard from all rpm range. The alternator belt was adjusted now i here a undulating sound coming from the center engine area only when its warmed right up after a 15 minutes or so. it sounds like a chain or belt. It comes right up through the front of the tank/bar area. Its not the head or cams, service teck checked that. Any thoughts on this before in dive in to inspect.

Double check that belt. If adjusted too tight, it is bad for the alternator bearings, if loose it can slip. At the mid point of the belt you want to get a 90 degree twist. If you can't get 90, too tight, if more loose.

I took off the guard/cover off and inspected the belt. Looks good. I didn't check for the 90' . I used a wrench on the crank pulley, I can hear a knock or clunk as i rotate the pulley back a forth in the alternator. Maybe this knock is being transfered throughout.
I will check again for the 90'. Thanks.

You shouldn't be getting any noise from the alternator. I'm suspecting the belt was too tight and the bearing has been damaged.
