Drain hose has come off, is it important?

One of the clear hoses that emerges under the bike by the centre stand, one that has a clip and plug of sorts in the end has come adrift at the top end, I noticed it as it was melted to the exhaust link pipe. :?

Is it one of the air box drain hoses? I think there are a couple in there.

Question is do I need to replace it, where does it come from and what happens if I leave it off. Its likely to need a tank off to get access to refix it.

I'd replace it. Sounds like the hose that collects oil from the airbox. If you don't the top of the engine/gearbox will get a coating of oil.

Found a picture of the errant hose I think, the one just above the rear shock adjuster, this was taken 1st March, it fits the position of the hose when I spotted it melted on the link pipe..........but is this shown it the correct position? What does it connect to in this location or has it already fallen off somewhere further forward?

I can't remember..does that open drain allow unfiltered air into the engine? If so, it's best to replace the line or at least plug that hole. Of course, plugging the hole will lead to oil getting sucked into the throttle bodies and gunking them up.

Found it and its refitted, its from the bottom of the air box, the nozzle it connects to is behind the rubber mudflap,

Panic over :D

It came off on mine. A real pain to get to and get back on if I remember. Yes, it will leak unfiltered air if it is off.
